Events

The celebration will take place over the weekend of Friday, June 30, 2017 through Sunday, July 2, 2017. Below, you will find a schedule of the component events. All guests are invited to all of the events.

Note that with the exception of the civil ceremony, which will be held at the City Hall (Mairie) of L'Isle sur la Sorgue, all events will take place at the home of Matthieu Hugues. The addresses are:

7:00pm — Pre-Party Soirée

Please join us for a pre-party at the home of Matthieu Hugues. We will gather around as the sun sets to relax, meet each other and make new friends, and enjoy words from those close to Matthieu and Justin. Light drinks and light snacks will be provided. Location: Matthieu's house.

Saturday, July 1, 2017

2:30pm — French Civil Wedding Ceremony

The official, legal wedding ceremony will take place at the city hall (Mairie) of L'Isle sur la Sorgue. Please note that space is quite limited and that the legal ceremony will be entirely in French. Location: City Hall (Mairie) of l'Isle sur la Sorgue.

Location Change

Head from town to Matthieu's house. Parking is available on-site, or the house is a 20-25 min. walk away from the Mairie.

4:30pm — Bilingual Wedding Ceremony

Yep, there's another ceremony! In this second, more casual ceremony, friends and family will gather together to celebrate the couple in both French and English. Location: Matthieu's house.

5:00pm — Cocktails and Pool Party

After the second ceremony, we will reconvene back at Matthieu's house for cocktails. The weather is sure to be scorching on the first of July, so we'll also jump in the pool to drink champagne and cool off. Don't forget to bring swimsuits and towels! We will have changing spaces available, as well as a vestiaire/coat check for those on foot to check their day clothes (or you can leave them in your car). We'll also have bags on hand to store wet suits/towels during the reception.

7:00pm — Dinner

We will delight in a sunset dinner in the pavilion, where family will share stories of Matthieu and Justin. Location: Matthieu's house.

9:00pm onwards — Reception and Dancing

As night falls, we will drink, dance, and enjoy each other's company. Location: Matthieu's house.

Sunday, July 2, 2017

Noon — Recovery Brunch

A healthy brunch will be served, along with a healthy batch of mimosas. Location: Matthieu's house.

After brunch (about 2:00pm) — Kayaking on the Sorgue

For those of you who have some extra time on Sunday afternoon, we would like to try to organize a group outing to go kayaking on the nearby Sorgue river (from which L'Isle sur la Sorgue derives its name). If you're interested in this event, please RSVP for it so we can get a head count. Location: We'll leave from Matthieu's house and provide directions at the brunch.
